The Yashar Project

A Straight Path To A Brighter Tomorrow

Education Assistance

The Yashar Project is intentional when it comes to making a difference in as many of these children’s lives as possible. Through our partnership with local schools and churches in Kenya, we are interacting with families who are financially unable to send their children to school or children who are orphans. We are getting them off the streets and placing them into schools where they have a hope of a brighter tomorrow.

These slum schools face many challenges. Try teaching a class without a teacher’s syllabus, or if you have one it is out dated. Try being a student without a text book to follow. Try learning when you have to share a desk built for two that is now sitting four. That’s if you have a desk at all. These are concern faced by these institutions on a daily basis.

DONATE

We are also sponsoring class 8 (8th grade) students into high school.  For these students to further their education, it begins at the conclusion of class 8 at which point they take the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE). The results of the KCPE is the criteria high schools use to recruit students. The students are sent a letter with the fee structure and all of the needed supplies to begin their secondary school education. Many families in the slums cannot afford the $600 – $800 it takes each year to further their education, and so many are stuck in a cycle of poverty.  This was not a part of Yashar’s original goal when we entered into this mission, but we could not see the problem and not try to be a part of the solution. Will  you help by sponsoring a child today?
