COLLIN McGHIE President
Collin McGhie is a husband, father, and U.S. Army veteran. He has worked in the telecommunications industry for more than twenty years. A devoted Christian, his calling is discipleship and missions.
Collin founded The Yashar Project and serves as its president. After a mission trip to Kenya and Uganda in 2010, he knew that returning to life as usual was not what he was meant to do. He encountered many people receiving help, but also saw countless others living in devastating conditions without the support they needed.
Walking through a Nairobi slum for the first time left a lasting impression on him. The conditions he witnessed broke his heart and strengthened his resolve to make a difference.
With the help of a few committed people, Collin and the team formed The Yashar Project. In 2012, they began providing food assistance to a school in the Kawangware slums of Nairobi. Since then, the organization has expanded its support to a second school on Mfangano Island in Lake Victoria, where children previously had no food-assistance program.
Both schools still need support to fully fund their feeding programs. In 2016, The Yashar Project also began training pastors in relational discipleship in Nairobi, with plans to expand into other regions of Kenya. It is a significant mission, and your support is deeply appreciated.
